As like any other skin, a port wine stain should be healthily taken care of. From a young age, my parents made sure that I always had good sun protection on, better to say: a sun block. I remember being on holiday and that all summer I’d be having a white face for a change. 😛
Twenty years ago, there weren’t so many good lotions on the market, let alone that you could buy it everywhere or online. The dermatological and clinically tested one that the doctors recommended could only be bought in France. Every year my parents would buy it at the pharmacy in France. Unlike some think, my port wine stain doesn’t hurt. It is just skin with a different color. But whenever it gets a sunburn, it hurts about five times as much as skin without the stain. So you can imagine that in summer I still drown my face in sunscreen 🙂 For the rest, I generally don’t use so much for my skin. I don’t really like all the weird stuff that’s in products nowadays. I like natural products on my face, like aloe vera juice (from my plant, haha) and pure coconut oil or shea butter with lavender in it. These have a cooling quality, which is good when your marked with a flame 🙂 They make the skin soft, especially in fall, when everything tends to dry up.
